I suppose if someone were to ask me when my love for photography started I would have to say at the age of three (that would be 1969). No Sunday visit to my Grandma and Grandpa's home in Hoopeston, IL was complete unless my Uncle John had
his camera out. Luckily my love for photography quickly turned from being in front of a camera to behind it. I remember fondly sitting on a tall stool watching my Uncle John develope his black and white photos in his own make shift darkroom, I
was probably seven or eight years of age by this time. It was like magic to me how he could turn a blank white piece of paper into a family memory with just a few tubs filled with liquid. I would sit mesmerized waitng to see the magic appear on
the paper and I always felt quite special when he trusted me to hang the new portrait up to dry. I felt like I was holding a treasure in my tiny fingers as he helped me reach the "Drying wire". I remember with all my heart, sitting in the back
seat of my Mom and Dad's car on our way home after such a visit, I asked my Mom, "Mom, when I grow up can I take pictures like Uncle John?" She said, "Yes, you can do anything you want to do." And so it began....Welcome to TLP Photography.
